Tottenham Hotspur came back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Brighton and Hove Albion dominated the early stages of the match, with Yankuba Minteh scoring a well-taken goal in the 8th minute to give the home side a 1-0 lead.
The Seagulls continued to press Tottenham, and their pressure paid off again in the 31st minute when Yasin Ayari doubled the lead with a composed finish. The home fans were ecstatic as Brighton looked to be in control of the match.
However, Tottenham refused to give up. Brazilian forward Richarlison pulled one back for the visitors in the 43rd minute, latching on to a precise pass from Kudus and beating the goalkeeper to cut Brighton’s lead in half just before the break. The goal gave Tottenham a glimmer of hope and set the stage for a tense second half.
The second half was tightly contested, with both teams creating chances and neither able to gain a clear advantage. Brighton looked to restore their cushion, while Tottenham pressed for an equaliser.
Tottenham’s persistence eventually paid off in the 82nd minute when Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke put the ball into his own net under pressure, gifting Tottenham the equaliser. The goal sparked a frenetic finale, with both teams pushing for a winner.
Despite Brighton’s strong home form, they were unable to hold on to their two-goal lead. The result means that Brighton maintains their strong home record but will be disappointed at letting a two-goal advantage slip. Tottenham, on the other hand, will see the comeback as a display of resilience on the road.
