Mohammed Kudus scored one goal and assisted another as Tottenham Hotspur handed Leeds United their first home league defeat in over a year, ending their 13-month unbeaten home run.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road was a significant result for Thomas Frank’s side, ending their brief winless run and cementing their position in the Premier League table.

The win was thanks to a standout performance from Mohammed Kudus, who scored one goal and assisted another in a rain-soaked afternoon in West Yorkshire.

The Spurs’ attack was sparked to life by Kudus, who provided the precise through ball that allowed Mathys Tel to score his first goal of the season. Tel’s 20-yard strike deflected off Pascal Struijk and wrong-footed goalkeeper Karl Darlow, giving Tottenham a deserved lead.

Leeds responded well to the setback, with Noah Okafor equalizing after Guglielmo Vicario parried Brenden Aaronson’s shot. The buildup play from Dominic Calvert-Lewin was impressive, and Okafor’s finish was clinical. However, Spurs quickly regained the lead when Kudus drifted across the top of the box and fired a low strike into the bottom corner.

The goal was a crucial one for Tottenham, as it sealed the win for Postecoglou’s side despite heavy rain and late Leeds pressure. Kudus’ performance was a highlight of the match, and his goal and assist were instrumental in securing the three points for Spurs.

The victory marked the end of Leeds’ 13-month unbeaten home run, with their last home defeat coming in September 2023 against Burnley in the Championship. The result will be a boost for Tottenham’s title hopes, and Thomas Frank will be pleased with his team’s resilience and determination.
