Tottenham manager Thomas Frank confirms Randal Kolo Muani and Wilson Odobert are fine after a minor car accident.
Tottenham Hotspur forwards Randal Kolo Muani and Wilson Odobert were involved in a minor car accident ahead of the club’s Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The incident occurred as the players were travelling to the airport to join the squad for Wednesday’s European fixture, although Frank stressed that there were no serious consequences and both players are expected to be available.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Frank explained that the accident was caused by a tyre blowout and insisted that everyone involved escaped without injury.
“Unfortunately, both were involved in a minor accident, but everyone else involved is fine,” Frank said. “It was a tyre blowing up, so the two of them are a little delayed, but they will land later tonight.”
The Tottenham boss added that he had not yet spoken directly to the players but was reassured by initial reports, confirming that both Kolo Muani and Odobert are expected to be ready for selection.
While the two forwards are set to be available, Tottenham will be without defenders Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven for the Frankfurt clash as injury issues continue to mount.
Frank revealed that Porro has suffered a hamstring injury that will rule him out for around four weeks, while Van de Ven’s absence is precautionary, with hopes he could return for the upcoming Manchester City match.
Tottenham’s strong Champions League form has contrasted sharply with their domestic struggles, and Frank stressed that the focus remains firmly on securing a top-eight finish in Europe, with Tottenham currently fifth in the standings and Frankfurt already eliminated.
