The international break is over, and club football as we know it is back.
This weekend, across the top five leagues, there are exciting matches for football fans to look forward to. However, we’ll be highlighting two of the toughest games to expect.
Inter Milan versus Juventus
Two Serie A heavyweights kick off gameweek 3 in the Serie A. This match poses a big test for both teams, especially Inter Milan, which suffered a 2-1 loss to Udinese before the international break.
Juventus, on the other hand, has enjoyed a good start with new striker Jonathan David off the mark and Dusan Vlahovic rescuing them in key moments. Juventus star Khéphren Thuram will also face his brother Marcus Thuram, bringing a bit of sibling rivalry to this fixture.
Juventus have just won one of their last five meetings with Inter Milan, and Igor Tudor will be looking to turn the tide around this time.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Fiorentina takes on Napoli, AS Roma faces Torino, while AC Milan hosts Bologna.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
On Sunday, 14th September, the Manchester Derby will take place, and for both teams, this game is a must-win. City are currently 13th on the table after suffering back-to-back losses against Tottenham and Brighton.
United, on the other hand, have been the talk of the town, especially after their Carabao Cup loss to Grimsby Town. However, they sit 9th on the table with four points from three games.
Ahead of the Manchester derby, City have a worrying injury list. Marmoush got injured during the international break and joined the likes of Rayan Cherki, Rico Lewis, Savinho, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Stones, Khusanov, and Nico O’reilly.
United, on the other hand, will be without new signing Matheus Cunha, who picked up an injury in their win against Burnley, joining the likes of Dalot and Mason Mount on the sidelines.
