Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is optimistic that the EFL Cup final could be the catalyst for more success this season.

“We don’t have anything yet, but we’ve put ourselves in an amazing position to win,” Timber said, highlighting the team’s determination to win. “The Carabao Cup final is coming early, so maybe that could be nice for us as a motivation and a boost towards the other cups as well.”

Timber praised the team’s ability to find ways to win, even when they’re not playing their best. “It’s not always possible to play your best, but this team does an amazing job of finding a way to win, no matter what.”

The defender also lauded Kai Havertz’s impact on the team, particularly his stoppage-time winner against Chelsea. “Kai’s presence within the team makes a big difference, but also on the pitch,” Timber said. “Everyone can see his amazing qualities, and how happy we all were for Kai.”

Havertz, who spent nearly a year out injured, has now scored twice in his last three appearances. “He is a fun character. He is not quiet and everyone likes him,” Timber added.

Arsenal’s next challenge is Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday, where a win could extend their lead over Manchester City to nine points. They also face Wigan in the FA Cup fourth round a week on Sunday.

The Gunners have a packed schedule ahead, but Timber believes they’re in an amazing position to win trophies. “You could see how relieved everyone was and how happy we are going to Wembley. And hopefully, there are more celebrations to come.”
