Thomas Frank Says Tottenham are Nothing Without Their Fans

Thomas Frank

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank addresses booing supporters after the 2‑1 home loss to Fulham, stating that the club needs its fans ahead of the crucial Newcastle clash.

Thomas Frank opened his pre‑Newcastle press conference by confronting the fan unrest that followed Saturday’s 2‑1 defeat to Fulham.

The home loss marked Tottenham’s 10th Premier League home defeat of 2025, equaling the club’s worst tally in a calendar year.

Frank said he “completely understand[s] the frustration” and acknowledged that the lack of wins at home fuels the growing discontent among supporters.

He then turned to a heartfelt rally, declaring, “We are nothing without the fans. Tottenham Hotspur is nothing without the fans.” He stressed that during matches the team needs the crowd’s support to turn the stadium into a fortress.

Defensively, Frank didn’t shy away from the numbers. In the last four games his side has conceded 13 goals, including the back‑to‑back defeats against Manchester United and Fulham where they allowed a combined five and seven shots yet still fell behind.

“You can say the four goals we conceded against United and Fulham are some of the goals I’d like to avoid more,” he remarked, noting the low xG faced.

On the bright side, Cristian Romero returns from a one‑match suspension and is set to replace Kevin Danso in the backline, giving Frank a much‑needed defensive boost. He confirmed the entire squad is fit and ready for Newcastle, saying, “Everyone ready for the Fulham match is ready for Newcastle tomorrow.”

The 12th‑placed Spurs are separated from Newcastle only by goal difference, adding extra stakes to the trip.
