Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has praised Aston Villa for their moments of quality after the 2-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Frank acknowledged that the game was intense and could have gone either way, with Villa’s two goals from outside the box being decisive.

“We could have easily won,” Frank said, expressing his disappointment at Spurs’ wastefulness. The team had several chances to score, but failed to capitalize on them, allowing Villa to capitalize on their own opportunities.

Frank commended Villa’s resilience and determination, saying they deserved credit for their moments of quality. The Villans fought back from a goal down to win the game, with Morgan Rogers and Emiliano Buendia scoring crucial goals.

Spurs had started the game well, taking the lead through Rodrigo Bentancur’s goal. However, they failed to build on their momentum, and Villa’s equalizer from Morgan Rogers changed the dynamics of the game.

Frank acknowledged that Spurs had several chances to win the game, but failed to take them. “If you told me before the game that these players will be shooting from these positions, I’d have said ‘happy days’,” he said, expressing his frustration.

The defeat is a significant blow to Spurs’ home form, with the team now winning just three of their last 18 home games..

The loss is a setback for Spurs, but Frank remains positive about the team’s potential. He emphasized the need for the team to learn from their mistakes and improve their performance in upcoming matches.
