Tottenham manager Thomas Frank says he understands supporters’ frustration after being booed at Brentford, but believes positive results will quickly turn fan opinion.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has admitted he understands the frustration of Spurs supporters after being booed following a goalless draw away to his former club Brentford on Thursday night.

The 0-0 stalemate prompted chants of “boring, boring Tottenham” from sections of the travelling support, along with songs referencing former Tottenham players, and Frank was met with boos when he went over to applaud the fans at full-time.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s home clash with Sunderland, Frank acknowledged the criticism but insisted the team is working towards a more attacking style. He pointed to recent away performances as a positive, particularly in defensive terms.

“It’s not perfect, we want to be a free-flowing team,” Frank said. “The last two away performances were very good defensively. We’re working very hard on the offensive part of our game and I understand the frustrations — I share them too.”

Tottenham currently sit 12th in the Premier League after just one win in their last four matches, with Frank highlighting unforced errors and injuries as key reasons for their inconsistent form.

The Danish coach revealed that Tottenham gave the ball away 25 times against Brentford and stressed that improvements in structure, patterns of play, and positioning are needed, while also noting the absence of key attacking players.

Frank, in his first season at the club, expressed confidence that success would restore the bond with supporters, insisting results will naturally bring fans back onside as Spurs prepare to host a Sunderland side flying high after promotion.
