25-year-old only joined Wolves permanently this summer for £23m
Striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has told Wolverhampton Wanderers he wants to leave the club amid strong interest from Newcastle United.
Wolves have not given any indication they are open to sanctioning a sale before the transfer window closes.
Newcastle have already seen two bids, worth £50m and £55m, rejected in the space of a week. No fresh offer has been submitted, and Wolves’ stance is that the Norway striker is not for sale.
They are unwilling to part ways with a striker who scored 16 goals in all competitions last season and helped keep them up, especially after having sold a number of key players this summer, including left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester City and Matheus Cunha to Manchester United.
Also, the 25-year-old only joined Wolves permanently in July for £23m from Celta Vigo, having arrived on loan last season.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are on the hunt for striking options, having seen back up striker Callum Wilson leave as a free agent this summer, been rejected by a slew of No 9 targets, and suffered a breakdown in their relationship with the club’s superstar Alexander Isak.
Manager Eddie Howe has started the last two games without a striker, playing Anthony Gordon up front. But the Englishman is now suspended for three games, leaving none but the inexperienced 22 year old, Osula, as their only option.
