Two goals from Marcus Thuram, fueled the win and De Vrij believes it was essential to get the three points after two tough defeats. “It was crucial to get the win and get results after two tough defeats,” De Vrij said. “We performed well, but we need to improve still.”
De Vrij praised the team’s performance, highlighting their ability to take the lead and read the game. “We did well today to take the lead and read the game and what it was all about: we won without suffering too much, well done to everyone,” he said. The win was a significant boost for Inter, coming off defeats to Udinese and Juventus.
“The better you play, the easier it is to get a result. We always try to uphold our principles. Today we also did well not to concede.” Inter’s defensive solidity was a key factor in their victory, and De Vrij believes the team managed the game well.
De Vrij also highlighted the team’s ability to manage the game and prevent Ajax from creating significant chances. “They had a chance on the counterattack but I don’t remember any great chances,” he said. “We managed the game well and did what the match required.”
