Striker to miss Manchester United’s clash with Everton but will be back for busy December

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko will miss Monday’s Premier League fixture against Everton through injury, but the club expects him to return before the busy December schedule begins.

Sesko picked up a knee problem during United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham before the recent international break. The Slovenia forward was withdrawn from national team duty to receive treatment at Carrington with United’s medical staff.

Initial scans showed no serious damage, and follow-up assessments indicate the striker will only be sidelined for a few weeks. He will now focus on a rehab programme expected to get him ready for action in early December.

Sekso has made 12 appearances for United since joining from RB Leipzig in the summer for £73.7m, producing two goals and one assist.

United face Everton at Old Trafford on Monday before travelling to face Crystal Palace on 30 November. After that they will play six games in a busy December.
