Serie A Player of the Year to Get New Reward from Napoli

Napoli is set to reward Scott McTominay’s outstanding performances with a new and improved contract, according to reports in Italy.

The Scotland international has been in fantastic form since joining Napoli from Manchester United in the summer of 2024, and his efforts are set to be recognized with a contract extension.

McTominay, who signed a four-year deal with Napoli expiring in 2028, is now expected to commit to the club until 2030. The 27-year-old has been instrumental in Napoli’s success, helping them win the Scudetto in his first season and establishing himself as one of the top players in Serie A.

The Scotland international’s impressive performances earned him the Serie A MVP award last season, and he was touted as a Ballon d’Or candidate. With 13 goals and 4 assists in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, and 10 goals and four assists this season, McTominay’s stock has risen significantly.

Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has reportedly held talks with McTominay’s agent over the potential terms of a new contract extension. While specific salary figures haven’t been mentioned, it’s expected that McTominay will be rewarded with an improved set of personal terms.

McTominay’s agent has recently arrived in Naples for talks, and the club is eager to secure his services for the long term. The Scotland international is currently sidelined with an injury, missing the last game and a half for Napoli, but his future looks bright.

The contract extension would be a huge boost for Napoli, who have seen several key players leave in recent years. McTominay’s commitment to the club will provide stability and confidence, allowing them to continue competing at the highest level.

As McTominay continues his recovery, Napoli fans will be eager to see him back on the pitch, wearing the Partenopei colors for many years to come.
