Juventus reportedly offered Sancho a €5m per-year salary with performance-related bonuses, but talks are ongoing for improved terms
Jadon Sancho is edging closer to a permanent departure from Manchester United, with Juventus now in advanced negotiations to sign the England international in a deal worth around €25m.
The Serie A side have reached a broad agreement with United on the transfer fee, with only final details of the player’s contract left to resolve, according to reports in Italy.
The two clubs are said to have settled on a fee close to the amount Chelsea would have paid to make Sancho’s loan move permanent before negotiations collapsed last month.
Juventus initially offered Sancho a €5m per-year salary with performance-related bonuses, but talks are ongoing as the player’s representatives seek improved terms. Despite reported interest from elsewhere in Europe, Sancho is believed to have prioritised the move to Turin and is eager to complete the transfer swiftly.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea after falling out of favour at Old Trafford. The club have since made it clear that he is not part of their long-term plans.
The English winger is one of five senior players, alongside Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia, granted extended leave from pre-season training to facilitate potential summer exits.
A move to Juventus would bring an end to a turbulent three-year spell in Manchester for Sancho, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £73m but never got going in the Premier League. The winger also dealt with various off-field issues that clouded his stay at United.
