Jadon Sancho is exploring his options in Turkey having struggled for game time at Aston Villa, which he joined on loan in the summer.

The Manchester United winger was spotted in Turkey during the international break, where he held discussions with three Turkish clubs, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas, according to CaughtOffside.

Sancho has made just three starts under Unai Emery since joining Villa on deadline day. He has previously had loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea but was unable to secure a permanent move for varying reasons.

His struggle for minutes in Birmingham means he is willing to cut short his loan stay and switch to Turkey mid-season.

Sancho and his representatives reportedly met officials from the three clubs at a hotel in Istanbul where they discussed sporting plans on offer for the 25-year-old.

His situation has deteriorated steadily since his public dispute with United boss Erik ten Hag early in the 2023-24 season, which saw him exiled from first-team activities and eventually loaned back to Borussia Dortmund.

A subsequent spell at Chelsea was unremarkable but the club were obligated to offer him a permanent deal. However, after the player refused to accept more moderate wages in line with the London club’s new salary model, they paid United £5m to cancel the obligation.

United froze Sancho and four other players out of pre-season training in the summer. Three out of the five secured moves away to their favoured destinations. The other, Tyrell Malacia, has been reincorporated into Ruben Amorim’s team. Sancho had to settle for a temporary move to Villa aimed at reviving his career, but this is yet to show signs of success.

Besides Turkey, Dortmund remains a possible destination for Sancho. The Bundesliga club are reportedly considering bringing him back for a third spell at the Signal Iduna Park.
