As full-back prepares to leave Liverpool, Salah leads the tributes with a heartfelt message to his friend and partner on the right flank

Mohamed Salah has paid a touching tribute to Trent Alexander-Arnold following confirmation that the Liverpool vice-captain will leave the club at the end of the season.

Alexander-Arnold’s decision to part ways with his boyhood club has sent emotional ripples through the city of Liverpool and beyond, with fans, teammates and legends all reflecting on his departure and legacy.

But perhaps no words have carried more weight than those of Salah, who formed one of the most productive partnerships in Premier League history with the 26-year-old right-back.

“It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you,” Salah wrote in a message on social media. “I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again.”

The duo were at the heart of Liverpool’s era of resurgence under Jurgen Klopp, combining for 13 goals and helping the Merseyside club bring the Premier League and Champions League back to Anfield. Their connection on the right flank has been beautiful to watch and terrifying for defenders both in the Premier League and in Europe.

Salah committed his own future to the Reds this season, alongside captain Virgil van Dijk, with the club’s other full-back Andrew Robertson expecting to come to an agreement with the club this summer for a contract extension.

Alexander-Arnold tops the all-time assist charts in the Premier League, having registered 64. In all competitions, he has 92, with 13 of those scored by Salah.
