Liverpool Midfielder has won the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award.
Ryan Gravenberch has just been named the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season, and it’s well deserved. The 22-year-old Dutch midfielder has had an incredible season with Liverpool, showing control, maturity, and presence on the pitch that belies his age.
Gravenberch’s transformation since joining Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2023 has been remarkable. Under Arne Slot, he moved into a deeper midfield role and became a metronomic orchestrator, dictating the pace of the game with ease. He’s been instrumental in Liverpool’s dominance of the Premier League this season, featuring in all 34 matches that secured the title before May.
The stats back up his impressive performances – 48 appearances, 4,138 minutes played, and over 2,400 passes completed. He’s been a consistent performer, and his versatility and responsibility in a title-winning team set him apart, as he started every game that led to Liverpool clinching the title in late April.
Gravenberch beat out some tough competition for the award, including Liam Delap, Anthony Elanga, and William Saliba. He’s truly deserved this award, and it’s exciting to see what the future holds for him.
