Everton beat Chelsea 3-0, with Beto scoring twice, leaving Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior frustrated with cheap goals conceded by his team.

Everton handed Chelsea a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, leaving visiting manager Liam Rosenior bemoaning cheap goals conceded by his side.

Beto scored twice, with Iliman Ndiaye adding a third to seal a memorable win for the Toffees.

The first goal came in the 33rd minute, with Beto receiving a superb pass from James Garner, who celebrated his first England call-up with an outstanding personal display. Beto’s second goal came just past the hour mark, firing through the legs of Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Ndiaye’s superb third goal, curled into the top corner, sealed Everton’s biggest victory over Chelsea since 1987. This is the first time Everton have recorded back-to-back wins at their new stadium.

Chelsea have now lost four games in a row in all competitions, following a difficult few weeks that saw them dumped out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain. Rosenior took responsibility for the defeat, saying the team setup was his decision.

“We set up the team a little differently today, concentrating on a 4-4-2 shape, and I thought we were comfortable,” Rosenior said. “The difference in the game was in both boxes, they were clinical, and it was a wonderful finish from Ndiaye.”

Rosenior was unhappy with the way his side conceded the first two goals, citing a worrying pattern of late. “Goals give you energy, and at the moment, we’re gifting goals away,” he said. “We started the game edgy, and then we played our way into it.”

James Garner, who now has six Premier League assists this season, was overjoyed with his England call-up and the win. “I’m so happy, I’m over the moon,” he said. “It’s a dream, and to top it off with a win is even better.”
