Liam Rosenior concedes Chelsea are struggling after a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, with pressure mounting amid poor form and Champions League qualification doubts.

Liam Rosenior has acknowledged that Chelsea are in a difficult place following a heavy 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. The result has intensified pressure on the Blues boss amid a worrying run of form.

Chelsea conceded all three goals in the second half, with Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi and Jérémy Doku finding the net for the title-chasing visitors. The defeat leaves Chelsea sixth in the Premier League standings.

The Blues now sit four points behind Liverpool in the race for a top-five finish, with their hopes of securing UEFA Champions League qualification hanging in the balance.

Since replacing Enzo Maresca in January, Rosenior has struggled to find consistency. Chelsea have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions, including three consecutive league defeats.

A major concern has been their lack of attacking output, with the team failing to score in each of those three Premier League losses. Rosenior admitted his side has not met the standards required, particularly when responding to setbacks during matches. The manager pointed to a recurring issue, highlighting how Chelsea have been unable to stay composed after conceding. He stressed the importance of maintaining focus in key moments, especially against high-quality opponents like Manchester City.

Frustration among supporters was evident, with boos ringing around the stadium at full-time. Rosenior accepted responsibility, emphasising the need to rebuild confidence and improve the team’s mentality in the closing weeks of the season.

Attention also turned to Enzo Fernández, who missed a second straight game due to suspension after comments about his future. However, Rosenior confirmed the midfielder has resolved issues within the squad and is set to return, as Chelsea prepare for another crucial fixture in their fight to salvage the campaign.
