Roma have joined Juventus in the race to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a free transfer this summer
Roma are set to challenge Juventus in the pursuit of Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi, who is expected to become a free agent at the end of the season. The Argentine defender has drawn strong interest from Serie A as his contract with the Premier League side nears its expiration.
Reports in Italy indicate that Juventus are prepared to offer Senesi a contract worth more than €4 million per season in order to secure his signature. However, Roma are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to enter the race for the 27-year-old.
However, Senesi has no intention of extending his stay at Bournemouth, meaning he will be available on a free transfer in June. This status makes him an attractive target for clubs looking to strengthen their defence without paying a transfer fee.
Barcelona and Napoli had previously been linked with the Argentine, but the focus now appears to have shifted toward Italy. Roma and Juventus are reportedly the leading contenders to land the defender ahead of the summer window.
Juventus’ interest in defensive reinforcements does not stop there. The Turin club are also said to be monitoring Roma’s Zeki Celik, whose contract situation in the capital remains unresolved as he seeks €4 million per season to extend his deal.
