Napoli edged Roma 1‑0 at the Olimpico with David Neres’ 36th‑minute goal lifting the Partenopei to joint‑top with AC Milan in a tight Serie A title race.

After a frantic opening between Roma and Napoli, with both sides throwing chances at each other, David Neres broke the deadlock, linking up with Hojlund before coolly chipping the ball over Mile Svilar for his third Serie A goal in two games. 

The goal won Napoli the game and pushed them to the summit, level on points with Milan and just two points ahead of chasing rivals.

Roma had hoped to continue their momentum after Dybala’s Europa League heroics saw him back in the starting XI for Thursday’s win over Midtjylland, but they fell to Conte’s Napoli.

The win keeps Napoli neck‑and‑neck with AC Milan at the top of Serie A, while Roma drops to fourth, two points behind the leaders.
