Left-back has not asked for a transfer and the club are still eager to keep him
Andy Robertson will be staying at Liverpool after the club pulled out of talks with Tottenham following their loss to Bournemouth at the weekend.
Robertson had been on the brink of a move to north London after Spurs entered discussions for a January transfer. The Scotland captain has struggled for minutes this season, and is open to more game time away from Anfield.
Slot has primarily played summer signing Milos Kerkez at left-back but the Hungarian has been unsteady this season, his poor performance against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium not raising hopes that the club salvage the season without Robertson.
Robertson turns 32 in March and his contract expires in the summer. So far, talks over an extension have stalled, prompting Tottenham’s approach at the behest of the under-fire Thomas Frank. It is understood that Robertson has not asked for a transfer.
The left-back joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017. His long-time partner at right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, left the club just last summer for Real Madrid.
