Chelsea’s Reece James shared an update on his fitness ahead of the Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense, confirming he’s fit and well after missing the win against Palmeiras.

Reece James has taken to Instagram to confirm he’s fit and well ahead of Chelsea’s Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense.

The England international was a doubt for the match against Palmeiras on Friday night but was ultimately replaced by Andrey Santos in the warm-up. Despite his absence, Chelsea secured a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Cole Palmer and a deflected Malo Gusto strike.

James’ fitness has been a concern for Chelsea fans given his history of injury problems. However, under the careful management of Maresca, James has been able to stay fit since returning from his latest setback in January. Maresca has even deployed James in midfield at times to reduce the strain on his body.

In his Instagram post, James shared a picture of himself in the sauna with the caption “I’m fit and well, see you Tuesday.”

This update will be a welcome relief for Chelsea fans ahead of the big match against Fluminense. With James fit and ready to go, Chelsea will be looking to make a strong impression in the tournament.
