Spanish club have been in contact with the player’s representatives but Guardiola has told the striker’s camp to stop speaking to them
Real Madrid are seriously pushing to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, with the Spanish giants having opened talks with the Norwegian’s camp.
Haaland signed a nine-and-a-half year contract extension with City in January 2025, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2034. In theory, that means that a deal for the Norwegian will be extremely complex for any club, even Madrid.
However, Madrid have a long history of pulling off galactico signings even from the most successful clubs. They signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea and David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in years when those clubs were at the height of their power.
Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly also prepared to explore every possible means to bring the 25-year-old to Spain, so long as he shows a desire to move.

Guardiola Asks Haaland to Stop Speaking to Madrid
The threat has been serious enough for Pep Guardiola to ask Haaland and his representatives to stop speaking with Madrid. According to El Nacional, the Spaniard is worried that such interest could destabilise the striker in the business end of the season.
However, once the season is over, Haaland will have the freedom, as all players do, to explore all possible options available to them, regardless of the contract.
What Haaland’s extraordinarily long deal with the club ensures is that City will have all the power in any future move. If Haaland does decide to move to Madrid, the Spanish giants will have to pay a premium price for him.
