Florentino Perez says the “Infinite Bernabeu” plan will give distant supporters an experience as good as being in the stadium

Real Madrid are working on a new project that will offer fans the opportunity to watch games at the Santiago Bernabeu through virtual reality, club president Florentino Perez has said.

The club are organising the project with Apple, their commercial partner, and it has been titled the ‘Infinite Bernabeu’. It will allow supporters to watch games through Apple’s Vision Pro, which will let them experience matches as if they were physically inside the stadium.

The club have already started work related to the project. Extensive filming was done during Madrid’s 1-0 Champions League win over Juventus in October using more than 30 specialised cameras. The footage will form the basis of a documentary produced exclusively for the Vision Pro headset, scheduled for release in 2026.

Perez hosted senior Apple representatives at the Bernabeu this week, continuing discussions that began after Apple chief executive Tim Cook’s visit to Madrid last year.

Madrid’s president said the project has been a long-term ambition of his to extend the Bernabeu’s match-day experience far beyond its physical limits and introduce a completely new world of entertainment for supporters.

“[It’s] a project I’ve been pursuing for many years: to allow any fan to experience the excitement of the Bernabeu as if they were right here in the stadium,” said Perez.

“I call it the Infinite Bernabeu, a place where anyone, from their own home, can experience a live match, with a sense of presence and emotion that was previously impossible.”

The cameras used for the Juventus match were placed throughout the stadium, including the tunnel, pitchside areas and press facilities. The resulting documentary will feature immersive viewing that will feel like fans are physically viewing all of these areas.

Perez said: “It will be like opening the stadium doors to the entire planet, without limits, without barriers, with a technological quality that will mark a before and after in the world of sports.”
