Defender will miss at least Sunday’s league match against Elche
Real Madrid defender Eder Militao picked up an abductor problem while playing for Brazil on Tuesday. The club are currently assessing the extent of the injury.
Madrid confirmed on Wednesday that scans showed damage to the right-sided muscle group, sustained during the second half of Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Tunisia. Militao was substituted shortly after feeling discomfort.
The club have not provided a timeline, but he is expected to miss Sunday’s La Liga match against Elche, according to ESPN.
The club said only that “further updates will follow” once his recovery plan is finalised.
Madrid also have some cause for concern around Dean Huijsen, Eduardo Camavinga and Kylian Mbappe, after all three pulled out of their national team squads due to fitness issues, although they might be available at the weekend.
