Meeting following the emergence of academy striker Gonzalo Garcia, who will bring added competition to the frontline
Real Madrid general manager Jose Angel Sanchez has met with Brazilian forward Endrick in the United States to discuss the player’s future at the club, amid growing uncertainty over his role ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The 18-year-old is currently sidelined with injury and not part of the squad for the Club World Cup. However, he travelled to the US to be with the team and to seek clarity on his prospects under new manager Xabi Alonso.
According to COPE, Sanchez made the trip specifically to meet Endrick, who is concerned about his lack of game time and the potential impact on his international ambitions, including a place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Endrick officially joined Madrid from Palmeiras in 2024 and made 22 appearances in La Liga last season. However, only three of those came as a starter.
In the Champions League, he started once and made eight substitute appearances. His path to regular football has grown more complicated following the emergence of academy striker Gonzalo Garcia, who has scored three goals and added an assist during the Club World Cup.
With Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo all part of Madrid’s forward rotation last season, and Garcia now pushing for a first-team role, Endrick faces stiff competition for minutes.
A loan move is being considered as a possible short-term solution. Juventus are among the clubs interested, with reports suggesting the Serie A side have submitted a proposal for a temporary deal. Other clubs in Italy and Spain are also monitoring the situation.
Endrick remains under contract at Real Madrid until 2030. No final decision has been made, but the club is expected to evaluate its attacking options during pre-season before determining whether the Brazilian prospect stays or leaves on loan.
