Real Madrid and Arsenal suffer setbacks as they prepare for their UCL quarter final match. Both teams are poised to meet on Tuesday, 8th April in the Champions League. They both suffered significant setbacks ahead of the UCL encounter.

Real Madrid’s Slip Against Valencia

Real Madrid were handed a surprising 2-1 defeat by Valencia at the Santiago Bernabéu by Valencia who opened the scoring with a goal from Mouctar Diakhaby in the 15th minute after Vinicius Jr missed a penalty.

Vinicius Jr pulled Madrid level in the second half but it wasn’t enough. A last-minute goal by Hugo Duro sealed the victory for Valencia.

This loss leaves Real Madrid trailing Barcelona by three points in La Liga, with Barcelona having a game in hand.

Real Madrid are also faced with injuries to Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal who may not be available before Tuesday. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was also left out of the squad but Carlo Ancelotti hopes he will be back just in time for the Champions League match.

Arsenal’s Stalemate with Everton

Simultaneously, Arsenal traveled to Goodison Park to face Everton. Despite their efforts, the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw.

This result halts Arsenal’s momentum as they prepare to face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Arteta will be without defender Gabriel who picked up an injury against Fulham. Arsenal will now look to Jurrien Timber to fill this hole while the presence of Bukayo Saka serves as a big boost to the squad ahead of Tuesday.
