PSG condemns the French FA for ignoring medical advice, leading to serious injuries for Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué during France’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has released a statement strongly criticizing the French Football Association (FA) for their handling of the injuries sustained by two of its key players, Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, during France’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

According to PSG, the club had sent a letter to the French FA prior to the international break, providing concrete medical data on the bearable workload and risks of injuries for its players. However, the club claims that this information was ignored by France’s medical department.

The injuries to Dembélé and Doué are significant, with Dembélé expected to be out for at least six weeks with a severe right hamstring injury, and Doué sidelined for around four weeks due to a right calf strain.

PSG is understandably concerned about the impact these injuries will have on the team’s performance and is calling for immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.

PSG’s main grievance is the lack of consultation and collaboration between the club’s medical staff and the French national team’s medical department. The club believes that if their warnings had been taken into account, these injuries might have been avoidable.

As a result, PSG is advocating for the implementation of a new coordination protocol between clubs and national teams to prioritize player health and medical support.

The club’s statement emphasizes the need for swift and immediate corrective action to address the “serious and avoidable” incidents that occurred during the match against Ukraine.
