“Hard to Believe” – Al-Khelaifi Praises Team’s Dominant Performance
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hailed the Champions League win as a triumph for French football, saying, “We’re defending the French flag, we’re a French club, we deserve it.”
After the team thrashed Inter Milan 5-0 in the final, Al-Khelaifi expressed his pride, stating, “Today, we have proven that we are here, we are champions, I find it hard to believe. 5-0, it’s incredible, it’s a dream”.
Reflecting on the journey, Al-Khelaifi noted that the club faced criticism and doubt earlier in the season, but the team’s dedication and hard work paid off. “This year has been very special, we had a difficult start, everyone criticised us, doubted us, and now, many people did not have confidence in our project, our investments,” he said.
Al-Khelaifi emphasized the significance of this victory for French football, adding, “Everyone criticises France, saying we don’t have quality, but we showed today that we have great players.”
The PSG president also highlighted the team’s young talent, mentioning that they had the second-youngest team in the final.
Looking ahead, Al-Khelaifi set his sights on repeating the success, stating, “The goal? To win again. It’s been 14 years of work. We’re building something for the future.
