PSG coach Luis Enrique hails his team’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Atalanta.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) got off to a flying start in their Champions League campaign, thrashing Atalanta 4-0 at the Parc des Princes.

Luis Enrique praised his team’s performance, saying it was a “very good start that reflects our style of football.” Despite Atalanta’s physical strength and good technique, PSG’s superior fitness levels and tactical approach paid off.

Enrique spoke on the challenges posed by Atalanta, who “press you and cause problems.” However, PSG’s strong start, with Marquinhos scoring within two minutes, set the tone for the rest of the match. The team’s attacking flair was on full display, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, and Goncalo Ramos adding to the scoreline.

Atalanta’s goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi made several impressive saves, including one on a Bradley Barcola penalty. However, PSG’s dominance and clinical finishing ultimately secured a comfortable victory. Enrique was pleased with his team’s performance, saying they “deserved this victory.”

The win was a confident start to PSG’s Champions League campaign, and Enrique hopes his team can build on this momentum. Despite a challenging fixture list, Enrique believes PSG can go far in the competition. “We hope to go far,” he said, referencing the team’s victory in the Champions League last season.
