Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl believes young midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic has the potential to follow in Thomas Müller’s footsteps and become a club legend.

Max Eberl believes Aleksandar Pavlovic has the qualities needed to follow in the footsteps of club legend Thomas Müller and become a long-term figure at Bayern Munich.

Müller ended an extraordinary 25-year association with Bayern Munich last summer when he completed a move to Vancouver Whitecaps FC. His departure marked the end of an era for the Bavarian giants after a career filled with trophies and historic achievements.

According to Eberl, another Munich-born player could now follow a similar journey at the club. Pavlovic, who also came through Bayern’s youth academy, is seen as someone capable of establishing himself as a long-term pillar of the team.

Speaking to reporters, Eberl suggested that the 21-year-old has the potential to become a Müller 2.0. He pointed to Pavlovic’s determination and work ethic as key factors behind his steady rise in the first team.

Eberl noted that Pavlovic was not always viewed as the most naturally gifted prospect in the academy system. Instead, he earned his opportunities through consistent effort and dedication, eventually breaking into the senior squad under former Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel.

The young midfielder has continued to grow since making his breakthrough, learning from experienced teammates such as Leon Goretzka while carving out his own path within the squad.

At just 21 years old, Pavlovic has already made 87 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring six goals and providing four assists. With his development continuing at a steady pace, club officials believe he could become one of the next key figures in Bayern’s long-term future.
