Parma shocked AC Milan with a 1-0 win at San Siro, ending the Rossoneri’s 24-match unbeaten run and leaving them 10 points behind Inter in the Serie A title race.

AC Milan saw their Serie A title charge suffer a major setback as Parma claimed a dramatic 1-0 victory at San Siro. The defeat ended the Rossoneri’s 24-match unbeaten run in the league and left them 10 points behind leaders Inter, dealing a potentially decisive blow to their Scudetto ambitions.

AC Milan knew the importance of securing all three points following Inter’s win over Lecce, but Parma nearly struck early through Mateo Pellegrino, whose first-time effort was deflected wide. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan was then called into action to deny the Argentine from the resulting corner, setting the tone for a tense afternoon.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side were further disrupted when Ruben Loftus-Cheek was stretchered off after a heavy collision with Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi. Ardon Jashari replaced him and soon tested Corvi, while Christian Pulisic also forced the Parma shot-stopper into action as Milan searched for momentum.

Despite flashes of attacking promise, AC Milan lacked sharpness in the final third. Pulisic scuffed a good opportunity wide from Adrien Rabiot’s headed cut-back, and a generally underwhelming first half ended without a breakthrough for the hosts.

After the restart, AC Milan increased the pressure. Corvi produced a superb save to deny Rafael Leao, and Mariano Troilo made a crucial block to stop Pulisic on the rebound. Leao then saw a sliding effort crash against the post, highlighting the Rossoneri’s growing frustration.

The missed chances proved costly. Parma delivered a decisive sucker punch when Troilo powered home a header from Emanuele Valeri’s corner. Although the goal was initially questioned for a possible infringement, a tense VAR review overturned referee Marco Piccinini’s first decision and confirmed the strike.

AC Milan pushed desperately for an equaliser, with substitute Niclas Füllkrug firing wide in stoppage time, but it was not their night.  The loss leaves their title hopes in serious doubt, while Parma celebrated a heroic performance that secured a third consecutive top-flight win and lifted them into 12th place in the standings.
