Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in Osimhen, but Al-Hilal most likely club to seal deal for Nigerian striker
Premier League clubs remain admirers of Victor Osimhen but the finances involved are likely to scupper a move.
Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and is set to return to the Italian side with his future once again the subject of intense speculation. While Napoli are open to selling the 26-year-old to fund a squad rebuild, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made it clear there will be no discounts: the full €75 million (£63m) release clause must be met.
Manchester United have registered a tentative interest but the club would need to move with conviction if they are to acquire the Nigeria international, according to Italian outlet Corriere del Mezzogiorno.
United, like several other Premier League clubs including Chelsea, are wary of not just the transfer fee but also Osimhen’s salary expectations.
While United continue to monitor the situation, they are yet to make any formal moves and may ultimately be priced out. The more serious interest is coming from outside Europe. Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal have made Osimhen a top target and are ready to offer an eye-watering €120 million package over three years, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
With Simone Inzaghi now officially installed as their new manager, the club have reportedly received approval to begin formal negotiations with the striker.
Galatasaray, impressed by Osimhen’s impact – including a Golden Boot-winning 2024-25 season that helped secure the Turkish Super Lig title – are also keen to retain him.
However, the club’s financial ceiling is far below what Al-Hilal can offer, with their reported €16 million annual wage proposal unlikely to sway the player.
