Vitor Pereira is expected to be given the task of keeping Forest up
Nottingham Forest are close to appointing former Wolves coach Vitor Pereira as their fourth manager after sacking Sean Dyche on Wednesday.
Dyche became the third Forest manager to be sacked this season following the 0-0 draw with bottom-side Wolves. The draw means Forest have won just three of their last 13 games in all competitions with a number of their relegation rivals in good form.
In a statement, the club said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.
“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the Club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time.”

Forest are 17th in the table, only three points above West Ham with 12 games to go. Meanwhile the Hammers have won three of their last five, dropping points only against Chelsea and Manchester United after going ahead in both games.
Pereira was sacked by Wolves in November after failing to win any of their first 10 league games and has been out of work since. Forest have let go of Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and now Dyche this season in a topsy-turvy, disappointing campaign that has followed a successful one last season that saw them secure European football.
If appointed, Wolves’ former coach will be tasked with keeping Forest up even after he was sacked three months into the season with Wolves at the bottom of the table. However, he apparently still retains some credit after saving Wolves from relegation last season.
Dyche secured a 12th placed finish in the Europa League with Forest, earning them a last-16 playoff tie against Fenerbahce. However, the former Everton and Burnley manager won only six of his 18 Premier League games in charge to leave Forest still fighting for survival.
