German international Niclas Füllkrug completed his medical with AC Milan ahead of January loan move with €5 million purchase option.
Niclas Füllkrug has successfully completed his medical examination with AC Milan. The German striker will join the Serie A giants for the second half of the season, with an option to buy for €5 million.
Füllkrug’s move to AC Milan comes after a disappointing stint with West Ham, where he failed to score in the current season. The 32-year-old striker joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund last summer but struggled to make an impact, scoring just once in 18 appearances.
At Milan, Füllkrug will wear the number 9 jersey and is expected to provide a boost to Massimiliano Allegri’s team, currently sitting second in the Serie A table. The loan deal is seen as a low-risk move for Milan, with the option to buy Füllkrug for €5 million at the end of the season.
The German international has previously shown his quality, scoring two goals for Germany at Euro 2024 and helping Borussia Dortmund reach the Champions League final in the 2023-24 season.
The move to Milan could also help Füllkrug’s chances of making Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the World Cup.
AC Milan is expected to announce the deal after Christmas, with Füllkrug set to join the team in January.
