The incident occurred deep into stoppage time at the Parc des Princes as Chelsea were chasing the game following a late collapse. Neto appeared frustrated while trying to retrieve the ball quickly and ended up pushing the ball boy, causing him to fall into a nearby chair.
The moment sparked brief tension on the sidelines, with players from both teams reacting to the situation before it was quickly brought under control. Neto later explained that his actions were driven by the emotions of the match.
Speaking after the game, the Portuguese winger said he had already apologised directly to the ball boy and expressed regret over the incident. Neto admitted he was desperate to restart play quickly as Chelsea were trailing and acknowledged that his reaction crossed the line.
He also revealed that he attempted to make amends by giving the ball boy his match shirt after the final whistle. According to Neto, the youngster understood the situation and accepted the apology.
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior also addressed the incident and apologised on behalf of the club if any behaviour from his team had been inappropriate.
The defeat left Chelsea facing a difficult task ahead of the second leg, with PSG scoring late goals through Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after earlier strikes from Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé.
Chelsea will now turn their attention to a Premier League clash with Newcastle United before hosting PSG in the return leg next week.
