Napoli secured a spot in the Supercoppa Italiana final with a convincing 2-0 win over defending champions AC Milan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The first half saw chances galore, with Eljif Elmas’ shot saved and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic denying Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Napoli dominated the half, but AC Milan had the best chance of the opening minutes through Alexis Saelemaekers, who blazed his attempt over.

The opener came in the 39th minute, with David Neres tapping in Rasmus Hojlund’s squared ball.

Hojlund continued to trouble the Milan defense, and his efforts paid off in the 64th minute with a stunning goal from a tight angle. The Dane’s performance was instrumental in Napoli’s victory, setting up Neres’ goal and scoring the second himself.

AC Milan struggled to cope with Napoli’s attacking prowess, and their chances were limited. Mike Maignan made some impressive saves, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Napoli from taking control. The Rossoneri’s struggles continued as they failed to capitalize on their opportunities.

Napoli’s victory marks a significant turnaround after back-to-back defeats. The Azzurri will now face the winner of Bologna vs. Inter Milan in the final, looking to win the Supercoppa Italiana for the first time since 2014.

AC Milan’s defeat is a setback, coming just two weeks after their Coppa Italia exit. Despite their recent Serie A form, they couldn’t replicate their success in the Supercoppa Italiana.
