Napoli secures its third Italian Super Cup title with a 2-0 win over Bologna, thanks to David Neres’ brace.

Napoli lifted the Italian Super Cup trophy for the third time in its history, defeating Bologna 2-0 in a thrilling match at the King Saud University Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

David Neres was the hero of the night, scoring a brace to lead the Partenopei to victory.

The Brazilian winger opened the scoring six minutes before half-time with a stunning left-footed shot from 25 yards out, curling the ball into the top left corner of the net.

Neres doubled Napoli’s lead in the 57th minute, intercepting a weak pass from Bologna goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia and chipping the ball over the onrushing keeper.

Napoli dominated the game, creating several chances and holding onto their lead despite Bologna’s efforts to mount a comeback. Antonio Conte’s team showed great composure and discipline to secure the win.

Conte has now won the Italian Super Cup six times, three as a player and three as a manager. This victory marks Napoli’s third Super Cup title, following wins in 1990 and 2014.
