Napoli looks to solidify its position in the Serie A title fight after winning the Italian Super Cup.
Napoli is riding high after winning the Italian Super Cup, beating AC Milan 2-0 in the semi-final and Bologna by the same scoreline in the final. The victory marks Napoli’s first Super Cup win since 2014.
The win is a welcome boost for Napoli, which had dropped to third in the Serie A standings after a loss to Udinese. The team is now one point off second-placed Milan and two points behind leaders Inter Milan.
Napoli will look to continue their winning streak when they face Cremonese, which is currently 11th in the standings. Cremonese has struggled in their last two games, failing to secure a win.
David Neres, who scored three of Napoli’s four Super Cup goals, is expected to lead the attack vs Cremonese. The Brazilian winger has been in fine form, scoring three goals in his last four league games.
Napoli’s bench also saw the return of Romelu Lukaku, who was named among the substitutes for both Super Cup games. Lukaku is nearing a return to action after missing the season due to a thigh injury.
Napoli has also been without Kevin De Bruyne for the last two months, but Antonio Conte has managed to overcome the challenges and lead the team to success.
With the momentum from the Super Cup win, Napoli is looking to solidify its position in the Serie A title fight.
