Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena is the sole candidate for the 2028 Champions League final, while Wembley and Camp Nou are vying for the 2029 final.
Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena is set to host the 2028 Champions League final, with UEFA confirming the German stadium as the sole candidate.
This marks another milestone for the iconic venue, which has previously hosted the elite European club final in 1979, 1993, 1997, 2012, and 2025.
The 2028 final will be held at the Allianz Arena, while the 2029 final is up for grabs between London’s Wembley Stadium and Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou. UEFA will make the decision in September 2026, with the renovated Camp Nou boasting an impressive capacity of 105,000, making it Europe’s largest stadium.
Munich’s successful bid is no surprise, given its rich football history and state-of-the-art facilities. The city has consistently delivered world-class events, including the 2025 Champions League final, where Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Inter Milan 5-0.
This season’s Champions League final is scheduled for the Puskas Arena in Budapest, while the Metropolitano in Madrid will host in 2027. UEFA’s decision to award Munich the 2028 final reinforces the city’s status as a premier destination for major football events.
Wembley Stadium, which hosted the 2024 Champions League final, is a strong contender for the 2029 final. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Camp Nou is undergoing renovations to increase its capacity and become Europe’s largest stadium.
UEFA has confirmed that final proposals are due by June 10, with decisions on hosts for various club competitions announced in September 2026.
