Inter coach Cristian Chivu confirms Marcus Thuram will miss next two key matches against Union Saint-Gilloise and Napoli due to thigh injury.

Inter Milan’s injury woes continue as coach Cristian Chivu confirms Marcus Thuram will miss the team’s next two key matches against Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League and Napoli in Serie A.

Thuram is struggling with a thigh injury and hasn’t been able to train, making it unlikely he’ll feature in either match.

Chivu spoke about the injury situation in his pre-match press conference, saying Lautaro Martinez is fine and has recovered from a cold, but Thuram needs a few more days. “Marcus needs a few more days, I don’t know what to tell you. We are trying to get him back as soon as possible. Apparently he won’t be there for Napoli.”

The Napoli match is a top-of-the-table clash, with the two teams level on points in second and third place, one point behind leaders Milan. Inter will be looking to secure a win to stay in contention for the title.

Chivu also praised his squad, saying he trusts all the players and everyone can play from the start. “For me, there are no starters, I’ve been saying it for months. I trust all the players I have available, everyone can play from the start.”

Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito are both doing well and could feature in the starting lineup. Chivu said he’s happy to have a strong group at his disposal, and everyone can contribute to the team’s games and journey.
