Odegaard came on to replace Eberechi Eze who once again had a quiet outing for the Gunners. Odegaard’s introduction sparked some life into the tie as Arsenal took the lead almost immediately.
He was also crucial to the chances Arsenal created at the start of the second half after a very quiet first 45 minutes where they failed to muster a shot on target.
Odegaard was however caught napping at the far post when Lewis-Potter scored a header from close range to equalize. The impact of the collision between Odegaard and Lewis-Potter left the Norwegian on the floor and despite treatment from the medical team, he was still uncomfortable.
After the game, Martin Odegaard was said to be limping heavily as he made his way through the mixed zone and back onto the Arsenal bus.
Arteta will be hoping the case is just as swelling as Arsenal’s injury list seems to be growing. Mikel Merino is out after a foot surgery and Havertz is sidelined for a few weeks with a muscular injury.
Arsenal will be hoping for good news from the medical team later today to see if Odegaard will be back in time for the game against Wolves.
