Kean has a €52m release clause in his contract but it is only applicable until 15 July, after which it becomes void
Fiorentina are determined to hold on to Moise Kean amid interest from Manchester United, with the striker’s release clause set to expire in under two weeks.
The 25-year-old forward moved to Florence from Juventus last summer and has quickly become a central figure for Fiorentia, scoring 25 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions.
The club view Kean as a key part of their future and plan to offer him an improved contract if he stays beyond 15 July. Kean has a €52m release clause in his contract but it is only applicable until 15 July, after which it becomes void.
Sources in Italy indicate that Fiorentina are preparing a salary increase of up to €4m per year in an effort to secure his long-term commitment. The current deal runs until 2029, but the club fear that another team could trigger his exit clause before the July deadline.
Manchester United are keeping tabs on the situation as manager Ruben Amorim continues to push for a new striker. United’s interest in Kean comes after a lacklustre campaign and mounting pressure to improve their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Though United are yet to make a formal offer for Kean, they are monitoring developments closely.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah also made a lucrative pitch to Kean nearly three weeks ago, reportedly offering an annual wage of €15m. The player has not yet responded, and Al-Qadsiah are still awaiting an answer.
Kean’s stock has risen steadily since his return to Serie A, having previously struggled for consistency at Everton and during loan spells. The forward boasts three Serie A titles from his time with Juventus and also has 21 caps and seven goals for the Italy team.
