Mathys Tel is reconsidering his Tottenham future, hoping a potential managerial change could revive his stalled Spurs career.

Mathys Tel is questioning if his best route to reviving his Tottenham career may be to simply outlast head coach Thomas Frank, as uncertainty continues to surround both their futures in North London.

The 20-year-old forward has endured a frustrating campaign, struggling to secure a consistent role in the side and hitting a new low when he was omitted from Tottenham’s Champions League squad for the clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Those setbacks have fuelled thoughts of an exit, with Tel attracting interest from Paris FC and even formally requesting a move in recent weeks as his frustration grew.

Tottenham, however, have shut down the possibility of a January departure, with club briefings insisting Tel will remain beyond the transfer deadline, a stance that has only added to the player’s dissatisfaction.

With minutes hard to come by and his role fluctuating from week to week, Tel is now reassessing his situation, including the possibility of staying put if Frank’s tenure is nearing its conclusion.

Many around the club had expected Frank to be dismissed following the Dortmund match, but the 2-0 victory appears to have earned him a temporary reprieve, with sources suggesting he may now be assessed on a game-by-game basis despite the widespread belief that his position remains precarious.
