Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reiterated his commitment to the club despite describing the last 48 hours as the “worst” of his time at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca spoke to the media ahead of Chelsea’s EFL Cup quarter-final clash with Cardiff City, where he was asked about his recent comments. “I already spoke about that and I don’t have nothing to add. It’s Cardiff tomorrow, please,” he said.
The Italian manager explained that his focus is on the upcoming game and achieving a third semi-final in his time at the club. “My focus is on tomorrow’s game and that we can achieve the third semi-final in my time at the club,” he added.
When asked if he was committed to being Chelsea’s head coach, Maresca replied: “Absolutely, yes.”
Maresca emphasized the importance of winning games to build a winning mentality, saying: “Since I joined the club, I always tried to say the same; building a winning mentality by winning games.”
The Chelsea boss understands that fans expect the West London club to challenge for every piece of silverware. “When you are Chelsea manager, you understand that the expectations are higher,” he said.
