Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is expected to remain in charge of the team, regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League or not.

Chelsea are currently in a tight battle for a top-five finish, which would secure a spot in Europe’s top club competition, but it is understood that the club’s hierarchy has faith in Maresca’s project.

Chelsea’s final league match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday will be crucial in determining their European fate. A win would guarantee a Champions League spot, which would bring significant financial benefits to the club. However, Maresca’s future is reportedly not tied to the outcome, with the club’s senior executives believing that he is on the right track and making progress towards achieving their goals.

Despite a drop-off in form mid-season, which saw Chelsea slip behind in the title chase, Maresca’s work is viewed positively by the club’s hierarchy. They believe that with continued support, Chelsea can challenge for major honors next season.

The Italian coach will have another opportunity to add silverware to his collection with the UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis on May 28. Regardless of the league outcome, Maresca’s focus will likely shift to preparing the team for this final, and potentially building on the momentum for the next season.
