Marcus Thuram downplays injury concerns after Inter’s 3-0 win over Slavia Prague and emphasizes the long journey ahead in the Champions League.

Marcus Thuram has put minds at ease regarding a potential injury he sustained during Inter’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague.

The France international was seen limping after the final whistle but insists that the issue is minor. “I think it’s a small thing, nothing serious,” Thuram said after the match.

Thuram was one of Inter’s standout performers in the win over Slavia Prague, which saw Lautaro Martinez score a brace and Denzel Dumfries add another goal.

The team’s defensive solidity was on display, with Inter keeping a clean sheet in the process. Thuram praised his team’s performance, saying, “It’s always tough in the Champions League. We had to take it seriously and play the game that we played tonight.”

When asked about Inter’s ambitions in the Champions League, Thuram remained grounded, emphasizing the long journey ahead. “I take things game by game, we’ll see after that. The Champions League is really long, we’re only in September.”

Thuram also emphasized the importance of defensive solidity, saying, “The important thing is to not concede goals, since we are usually okay at scoring. We’re improving and hope to improve even more.”

The win over Slavia Prague marked Inter’s second victory in as many games in the Champions League, with the team sitting level with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at the top of the standings. As the competition heats up, Inter will look to maintain their momentum and make a deep run in the tournament.

Inter’s next challenge will be against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on October 21, 2025. The team will aim to build on their strong start and continue their winning ways.
