Fixtures in Sweden and at Old Trafford but the core of summer preparations will take place in the United States as part of the Premier League Summer Series

Manchester United will begin their 2025-26 pre-season under new head coach Ruben Amorim with a five-match schedule spanning Sweden, the United States, and a final home fixture at Old Trafford.

Players are expected to return to Carrington on Monday, 7 July. After a disappointing end to the 2024-25 campaign, which saw United finish in the bottom half of the Premier League and lose the Europa League final to Tottenham, Amorim is set for his first full pre-season in charge as he looks to reset the club’s trajectory.

26 July: vs West Ham – MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey (12:00 AM BST)

30 July: vs Bournemouth – Soldier Field, Chicago (2:30 AM BST)

9 August: vs Fiorentina – Old Trafford (5:15 PM BST)

United have already completed a short post-season tour in Southeast Asia, featuring matches in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. Pre-season formally begins at Carrington on 7 July, but the first fixture will be in Sweden, where they will take on newly promoted side and local rivals Leeds United on 19 July.

The core of the summer preparations will take place in the United States as part of the Premier League Summer Series. United will face three domestic opponents – West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton – in key warm-up matches across major US cities.

The club will return to Manchester to conclude pre-season with a home fixture against Serie A side Fiorentina on 9 August, marking the only match at Old Trafford before the Premier League begins.

Amorim is expected to use the tour to integrate new signings and evaluate tactical systems ahead of his first full campaign. Players returning from injury and international duty are likely to be eased back into the squad, while several youth prospects may be given opportunities to impress.

The opening weekend of the new Premier League season is scheduled for 16 August, when United will face Arsenal at Old Trafford.
