Manchester United’s new left wingback Patrick Dorgu has named Alphonso Davies and Theo Hernandez as his biggest inspirations.

The 20-year-old Dane, who joined the Red Devils from Lecce in January, feels that the attacking prowess and modern style of play of both players are the qualities he wants to emulate.

Speaking to United Review, Dorgu revealed how he frequently studies footage of Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez to improve his own performances.

“Yeah, I think they suit the position very well,” he said. “They’re very attack-minded and they get forward a lot on the pitch.

“Alphonso Davies plays as a winger in the internationals and he has the quality to play there as well.”

Dorgu is yet to register a goal or assist for United, having made 12 appearances for Ruben Amorim’s side this season. The Denmark international is aware of that and is focused on delivering better performances on the pitch.

“It’s a very attack-minded position,” he said. “I think I just need to improve my decision-making, to think fast on the pitch and to connect better with my teammates.”
