Kit deal breaks Premier League record set by Manchester United’s agreement with Adidas

Manchester City have agreed a new long-term kit partnership with Puma worth £1bn, the most lucrative deal of its kind in English football history.

The agreement extends the club’s existing deal with the German sportswear giant until 2035. It will see City earn £100m annually, a significant increase from their previous £65m-a-year deal that was due to expire in 2029.

The deal not only sets a new benchmark in the Premier League for yearly kit value, it also brings City close to now being perhaps the most commercially powerful club in the Premier League. Tellingly, the deal surpasses Manchester United’s £900m 10-year agreement with Adidas signed in 2023.

The renewal follows a period of marked success on the pitch for City. Despite their blip in 2024-25, Pep Guardiola’s side have won since four consecutive Premier League titles since first partnering with Puma in 2019. Also, in 2023 the club became only the second English side to complete a treble, winning the league, FA Cup and Champions League. Again, meeting United’s previously unmatched feat accomplished in 1999.

City’s CEO Ferran Soriano said: “We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons.

“Today’s renewal and extension solidifies our relationship and projects it to an even brighter future.”
